Description
The Urban Reign is a Beat ’em Up video game released for PS2. Masahide Kito directed and Hirofumi Motoyama produced this game. This video game received mixed reviews according to aggregator Metacritic. But in Japan, Femitsu gave it a score of nine and 3 out of eight. criticized the game’s graphics and control system but praised the arcade-style mode. Looking at another review of the game, Eurogamer said the payoff was nothing compared to the God of War game.
There is a character known as Urban Reign, he follows the utilization of “brawler-for-hire”. Urban was hired by the swordsman “Shun Ying Lee” to find a gang member kidnapped. A town in the United States fights local gangs on the streets of Green Harbor and interrogates them to find gang members. And reveal their true tricks and make things more complicated.
Gameplay
The game has both multiplayer and single-player modes. In these modes, there are many AI opponents and human-controlled characters on the same screen and fighting at the same time. Game Character in the game environment consists of picking up weapons, throwing objects at enemies, giving precise instructions to AI partners, and being able to take action against multiple opponents. There are low and high grapples, air grapples, and counters with animations for each character. Although characters have combo strings in this game, most combos are initiated by pressing the gamepad’s three buttons. The third of those buttons helps to block the opponent.
As the game is a fighting game, it is played from a third-person perspective view. Neutralizing or countering attacks by opponents in this game is done with a single button press. Also, if the player presses the gamepad up or down while pressing dodge at the right time, his character will reverse any attack if possible. In this game, even if the player is trapped by an enemy, it is possible to dodge the attack and get out. Game characters have a “special arts meter”. Through this meter character must reach a specific threshold before a move is attempted.
