Description
Tekken Tag Tournament is the fourth and advanced installment of the main series. It is an action game released for PS2 and later released on other Sony game console portals. The game’s gameplay is the same as other Tekken series and the main story of the gameplay is the same in all the series. You as a player can easily understand the changes within the game after downloading and playing the game.
The game was released as an arcade game in 1999, launching in 2000 for the PlayStation 2 in North America and Europe under the title Tekken. The arcade version of the game ran on the same Namco System 12 board with a 32-bit engine as the 3rd series. The game later released a remastered version titled HD for the PlayStation 3 in November 2011.
Gameplay
The series sees players fighting in teams of two characters. At any point in the match, the player can swap them with other fighters, and during this, the resting fighter can recover some lost health. This tag or feature can be applied in a variety of ways, such as within combos or by using special throws. Occasionally a fighter’s life bar will flash during combat, and then that character can be tagged in for a temporary boost in power. In the series, players are defeated when one of their fighters loses all of their health, and the team with the most accumulated health remaining wins the round.
The game has over 35 characters like other series. There is also a boss character who is unknown. Like Mokujin from the No. 3 series, he can mimic any character’s style at any time during a fight. The PlayStation 2 version added a variety of modes, including 1-on-1 mode, where players can choose only one fighter, and Team Battle mode, where players can choose eight battles and play with tag rules. Also featured is a bowling minigame in the “Tekken Bowl” mode where each character has a different attribute.
The arcade and console versions of this series are slightly different. The arcade version allows players to select only the alternate colors that are first added to the costumes, and usually, the colors are unlocked when there are bonus characters. There are also important differences regarding the playability of the characters, as some of the characters’ moves or attacks are much more efficient in the arcade version than in the console version.
