Description
Shadow Of The Colossus is an action video game published by Sony Computer Entertainment America for PlayStation 2. This game follows Wander and follows a fantasy setting. There is a story behind this game. A young man ventures into the isolated wasteland of a kingdom and searches for the power to revive a girl named Mono. The player takes on the role of a wanderer to set out on a mission that can lead to the resurrection of Mano. He can revive Mono by locating and destroying the sixteen giant beasts and colossi that have been sneaking across the Forbidden Land.
This game was directed by Fumito Ueda and produced by Kenji Kaido. The game is an influential title in the video game industry and is cited as one of the best video games of all time. Minimal landscape design, immersive gameplay, and emotional weight make this game more interesting for players. It received widespread critical acclaim from the media. Gameplay
The game is organized from a third-person perspective in 3D graphics and includes battle-based gameplay sequences, as well as puzzle games. The environment of this game is presented as an open world. In this game, the player starts at a certain point in the map, finds and defeats a Colossus, and returns to that previous point or place to repeat the process. To see each Colossus the wanderer can raise his sword upwards and project his beam of light into the sunlit area. The player’s journey to the Colossus rarely follows a direct path. The Colossus in this game is located in remote areas such as on top of mountains or in ancient structures.
If the player faces Colossus in the game, he must defeat him and find his weak points. Each Colossus resides in a unique lair, allowing the player to take advantage of the modern battlefield in most encounters. The first two battles of the game take place in a simple, vast, and flat terrain, where players aim to find the Colossus’ weak points and attack accordingly. However, Colossus has a weak point reflected by a bright beam. Wander has a stamina gauge that decreases as it hangs with Colossus. And there is a certain lizard whose tail increases the wanderer’s stamina gauge. Likewise, the player can find fruit that increases the wanderer’s maximum health. Apart from the Colossus, the game has more nefarious smaller enemies that players need to watch out for.
Wander has a horse, his name is Agro. He plays a certain role with Wander in this game. In addition to transport, agro enables the player to fight on his back. However, there are many places in the game where horses cannot be entered. Colossus is found in deep water and in areas beyond large barriers that are impossible for agro to reach. Throughout the game, the wanderer has a sword and a bow with arrows.
