Description

The Mortal Kombat game series also released another game called Mortal Kombat – Armageddon for the PS2, a karate fighting video game. This game is the seventh installment in the main series and the sequel to the 2004 Deception series. Chronologically, the later release games have almost the same characteristics of virtually every character as the original series. Players select one of their own and one of the opposing fighters. And every series of this wheat has the same story. The game story follows a warrior named Taven who goes on a journey to defeat his evil brother.

The game’s reputation was widely spread because of the large number of playable characters and the Conquest mode. However, users of this game criticized the similar play style between the same characters in the previous two games. The game’s custom fatality feature was also met with mixed reviews by critics. The game is the final fighting game for sixth-generation consoles and the first for seventh-generation consoles with its release for the Wii.

Gameplay

The gameplay of the games in this series is very similar but many things have been changed in this series. There are two fighting styles for each character one is hand-to-hand and the other is by weapon. Some major characters like Onaga only have one fighting style. The series introduced two new combat systems, the Air Combat combo system (similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series’ Air Combo) and a Killer Instinct series’ Combo Breaker-styled parry system. The series also can create a new lethality. This custom lethal execution replaces the character-specific lethality of previous games, where gamers could simply enter input and see the death cinematic at the end of the game.

Konquest Mode: This mode of the game combines the modes seen in the Deception series with elements taken from the spin-off adventure title Shaolin Monks. The story of the game revolves around Taven and Dagon, two brothers whose mother Delia is a sorceress and their father Argus is the Edenian guardian deity who foretells a cataclysmic event perpetrated by the game’s warriors. Their awakening leads to conquest mode resulting in the game moving towards standard play. The game’s Teven is the main protagonist that the player controls in Conquest. There are some weapons available in this mode of the game, which seem to handle a lot like Shaolin monks. Collect various relics in this mode. Conquest can easily unlock character costumes and other content throughout the rest of the game. When this mode is complete Taven is unlocked for arcade play.

Create-a-Fighter: In addition to more than 60 characters, the game gives players the ability to create, design, and use new fighters. In the game players can give their character a fighting style, changing their position and assigning different attacks via the buttons on their controller. The game’s weapons include a range of swords and axes and special moves to choose from. Most of the moves and outfits are bought with coins or money earned in the game. There were also multiplayer games and online mode, although the online service was later discontinued.
