Description
Crash Twinsanity is a 3D platforming video game published by Vivendi Universal Games for the PlayStation 2. The game is the eleventh installment in the Bandicoot series and the fifth installment of the main series. The story of the game takes place about three years after the release of The Wrath of Cortex series and the game follows the main protagonist Crash Bandicoot and the antagonist Dr. Neo Cortex. In this game, they must work together to stop the Evil Twins.
A series of these began development as Twinsanity Crash, the first Bandicoot Evolution. The game replaces previous actor Clancy Brown with the debut of Lex Lang as the voice of Cortex. Crash Twinsanity received both positive and negative reviews upon the game’s release. Users of the game mostly praised the gameplay variety, presentation, narrative, humor, and Lang’s voice performance, but had mixed reactions to the game’s music.
Gameplay
Firstly the gameplay of this series is very interesting and easy to play. It is played from a third-person perspective. The game is very different from previous entries in the Mines series. Here players can explore the game environment from all sides. Throughout the game players control three different characters Crash Bandicoot, Dr. Neo Cortex, and the new character Nina Cortex. Control of these characters in the game alternates through certain levels. Crash is the main character of the game that players can control from the start and can jump in the air, land on enemy characters, spin like a tornado to knock off-screen enemies, slide and land on the ground, and break certain objects. This Cortex character uses mechanized weapons equipped with a Regan and a limited amount of ammo to punch and knock enemies far away with fire. When the game’s main character Suli, Crash, and Cortex are together, Crash can use Cortex to increase the range of his spin attacks, using Cortex’s head as a hammer to break certain objects. This game has two levels, one is “HumiliSkate” and another is “RollerBrawl”.
In the gameplay of this game, a fruit named Wumpa is scattered throughout the game, and collecting 100 fruits earns an extra life. Crates also store Wumpa Fruit, which can be obtained by breaking crates where they can be found. These TNT crates detonate after three seconds of fuse when breaching and shatter. Crates with plungers can detonate any nitro crates nearby. Collecting checkpoint crates allows the player to return to a specific point in the stage after losing a life, and grants him a new life. Collect gems accumulated throughout the game to unlock content such as concept art and storyboards.
